My book „The Early Twenties“

„The Early Twenties“ is Felix Kayser's very personal reminiscence of the past five years. His photographs are mostly digital, occasionally also analogue. They show a mixture of fashion, portraits and everyday life, between light and shadow, shades of grey and colours. In the midst of all this, stages are created for the female protagonists, who are portrayed in a less artificial, more spontaneous and natural way. The multifaceted nature of these women characterises the photographic compositions as much as the ever-present historical architecture of the urban scenes. The interplay between the two makes Felix Kayser's photobook of more than 120 pages as unique as it is timeless.

"Only photograph what you love" // Tim Walker

My heart beats in Berlin as a city with its artists, its urbanity, its creativity, its nature and the everyday life of its people. For me, these influences are like sounds you want to capture.

Born within sight of the Berlin Wall, after the last years of the GDR, I was able to experience the dawn of the post-war years up close. Due to the many freedoms of the 90s, creativity already played an important role at a young age. Aesthetics has always been a point in my perception. This still shapes my view of Berlin with all its facets.

I photograph a part of my longing for the untouchable, the wanderlust, the place where I am not at the moment. With the photos I want to create something that remains, that connects. A mixture of an imperfect authenticity and cinematic thoughts.
