Alistair Keddie is a photographer and visual artist based in Aotearoa, New Zealand.
Originally from Scotland, he studied drawing and painting at Glasgow School of Art in the 1980’s.
Over the years, his work has grown to embrace photography as an integral part of his creative practice and has strongly informed a recent swing back towards painting and abstraction.
Drawing primarily on landscape, Al’s work explores themes around time, being and place, and favours a cut-up, collage type approach embracing accident, ambiguity and multiple layers of meaning.
Creatively though, just about anything goes and they enjoy the process of continual experiment and play in making visual art.
