- Portfolio / Photographer Nicholas Freeman
Los Angeles based commercial photographer Nicholas Freeman blends technical mastery with creative vision in a bold, graphic, modern style. Nicholas has created imagery for some of the biggest fashion and apparel brands as both staff photographer as well as independent artist beginning in 2005.
Before apprenticing with French fashion and celebrity photographer Dominick Guillemot, Nicholas was educated at a commercial photography trade school - learning his craft the hard way; using a 4x5 technical camera and a dark room.
Nicholas grew up in Southern California in the 90’s surrounded by fashion and pop culture. Raised by a single mother who worked out of their home as a tailor and seamstress; his earliest photographic memories are his mother’s collection of 90’s era Vogue and Vanity Fair magazines and fashion shows like America’s Next Top Model and Project Runway, which they watched together.
Currently Nicholas serves on the board of directors for the American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP) in Los Angeles, where he volunteers his time back to the photographic community as an educator and advocate through ASMPs prestigious national programming.
Nicholas is also an avid conservationist. When not creating imagery he can be found in the waters around Los Angeles serving in his role as a PADI certified Dive Master, hiking the mountains with his wife Drusilla and their corgi Kimchi, or tending to his home garden.
