Ghilain Vermeersch

Ghilain lets us look through his lens at what at first sight seem banal images that appear sober and serene. Those images are deliberate and their strength is that there is nothing too much on them. They are, as it were, purified to the essential.
He works in both black and white and color with strong contrasts and a high artistic content.
He developed his own visual language that makes his signature recognizable, which mainly manifests itself in his series.
Whether Ghilain works with models or photographs innocent passers-by, they always radiate a certain “je m’en fous”.
