I photograph my obsessions. My first book captured a decade of live rock concerts, from Aerosmith to ZZ Top. My second spanned over 20 years of photographing Cuba, immersing myself in its vibrant culture and spirit. Now, I am working on my third fine art coffee table book, exploring the oldest subject in art: nudes.
Nude photography is the most timeless of artistic expressions, dating back to a 25,000-year-old figurine believed to symbolize fertility and the divine feminine. Yet, in modern art, nudes are often stripped of their humanity and reduced to objectification, devoid of emotion or personality. My goal is different: to create portraits that are deeply personal and emotionally evocative. I aim to photograph my subjects as they truly are—not just their bodies, but their essence, power, and sexuality. I want the women I photograph to look at their images and say, “That is really me.”
This authenticity comes from collaboration. Casting is the foundation of my work, and I carefully select my creative partners—women who own their presence and sexuality, who are unapologetically themselves. They are not just models; they are collaborators, muses, and co-creators. Physical beauty is only one part of the equation. I seek women with confidence, a strong sense of self, and the ability to bring their full sexuality to the camera.
In crafting these images, I embrace simplicity: I structured and photographed the images around these parameters: one theme (Desire), one camera, one light, one backdrop, one vintage 75-year-old large format lens, one custom machined bellows (to tilt the lens for blurs), and (mostly) one woman. No A.I. was used. This approach allows the raw, intimate connection between photographer and subject to take center stage.
My work is an exploration of timeless themes: desire, connection, and the interplay between desire and power. Through this series, I continue my obsession with photography as a means of connection, honesty, and creative expressio
