El Hostal de la Gavina (The Seagull) - 1924- is a five-star hotel on the Costa Brava known over the last centrury for its air of grace and elegance, as well as the odd scandal thrown in thanks to the likes of people such as Frank Sinatra and Ava Gardner.. Among other guests, the Aga Khan, Jack Nicholson, Peter Sellers, John Wayne, Britt Ekland, Laurence Olivier, Sean Connery... etc etc...it has 72 rooms and is classed as one of the world's most exclusive hotels.
