Photography has accompanied my life for almost 10 years. When I started to learn more and more about photography (autodidact at the age of 18), my goals were the same as they are now : I want to express emotions and visually captivate the viewer.

I want to find a universal language to make the world of my inner experience visible to anyone who opens up.

Due to my history with mental illness, I have always perceived feelings very intensely and often a threat. Already in my early childhood I had to struggle with depression, anxiety, mood swings and thus difficulties in coping with life in general.

And in the midst of the struggle to live with less pain, I have to admit that this pain has often been a driving force behind my photographic work.

In my photography, authenticity or "genuineness" is very important to me and at the same time I want to create a visually appealing experience. A picture on which one likes to let the gaze wander and, inspired by what is shown, opens up to their own associations, thoughts and feelings.

The overriding reason for these goals can be roughly summed up as “collective connection”. In our darkest times, we tend to isolate ourselves and feel lonely. While, in fact, it's the other way around: since everybody already felt sadness and fear, our suffering and our pain becomes a connection without us even realizing it.

It is precisely this connection that I want to evoke. Because the collective "feeling" and feeling with each other - I am convinced - has the power to create healing, peace and equality.
