Eight Simple Tips a Photographer Wishes He Had Learned Years Ago

When you are new to photography, it can be a bit overwhelming trying to learn about and assimilate the many facets of technique, artistry, business, and more. This awesome video features a photographer discussing eight simple things things he wishes he had learned when he first started in photography.

Coming to you from James Popsys, this awesome video features him discussing eight basic ideas he wish he had known when he first started photography. For me, the lesson I wish I had learned sooner was simply to embrace higher ISOs. When I first started, I was terrified to push my ISO up at all. This would cause me to use apertures that were simply too wide for the depth of field I needed or even worse, use shutter speeds that were way too slow for the action or for my ability to hold the camera steady. This caused me to miss a lot of shots, because ironically, I was obsessing too much about technical image quality. I had to learn that it's always better to have a sharp shot with some noise than a low-ISO shot that's blurry. Check out the video above for the full rundown.

Nearly a quarter hour for eight tips? Sorry, but I just didn't have the free time to watch what I could have read in two minutes or less. I'm sure they were valuable, but so is my time.

That’s why you’re reading FSoppers I’m sure lol

Or you can just look at the video summary on YouTube. Its faster than complaining.
