Creative Ideas for Landscape Photos in Bad Weather

Most of us do not particularly enjoy standing in inclement weather, particularly with expensive and often fragile photo equipment. However, if you are willing to weather the elements, you can often get dramatic and compelling landscape images that capture the viewer's eye. This excellent video tutorial will give you some great ideas for taking awesome images in the rain.

Coming to you from Landscape Photography iQ with Tom Mackie, this helpful video tutorial will show you some ideas for taking interesting landscape photos in bad weather. Personally, I think this is the best time to shoot landscape photos. We are quite used to seeing images with golden sunlight or partly cloudy skies that embody a sort of idealness, and no doubt, those are beautiful to look at. However, photos taken in bad weather can be a bit more arresting, especially since they are often rarer than their fair-weather counterparts and thus instantly more interesting. Just be sure to take the proper steps to protect both yourself and your equipment! Check out the video above for the full rundown from Mackie.

I was there and photographed the lonely tree about 4 years ago. It's a lovely place. I had it all to myself for an hour and no rain! :-)
