Jonas Berggren sees photography as a tool for communication and for asking questions, the way he does to others, but also as directed inwards, to understand himself. Jonas’ work tends to focus on loneliness and longing, be it the fear of being lonely, or the memories of past loneliness. The longing for someone, or something.

Often Jonas works in black and white because he thinks it clarifies moods and feelings. When just using grey tones he strips away parts of reality, allowing him to work more poetically.
