Contact

My collective work as an artist is titled the 'Anima Series'.

This body of work has been on-going since 1984 and is based on my experience of the feminine aspect within the male psyche – what Carl Jung called the 'anima'.

To express this part of myself, I collaborate with various people who act as alter egos and play out my thoughts or feelings in front of the camera.

In some cases, these collaborative relationships have been on-going for over ten years and are the basis of my creative process.

Expressing my anima is an intellectual, emotional and spiritual experience. It includes the subjects of lost innocence and gender identity in response to my military service as a teenager.

There are also many references to the mystic, esoteric traditions of my European ancestors.

If you look closely, there are no wrist watches, power lines or motor vehicles in my images. This is because my work is about the spiritual, enduring aspects of the human condition, as opposed to the physical, material world.
